Last Friday, 5th November 2010, Malaysian and other countries celebrate this day as Festival of Lights or Deepavali.

Deepavali or Diwali, popularly known as the festival of lights, is an important five-day festival in Hinduism, Jainism, and Sikhism, occurring between mid-October and mid-November.

For Hindus, Diwali is the most important festival of the year and is celebrated in families by performing traditional activities together in their homes.

Deepavali is an official holiday in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Mauritius, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Suriname, Malaysia, Singapore, and Fiji.

Celebration of the victory of good over evil, the uplifting of spiritual darkness.

As the beautiful day that full of lights, hope that the dark route will be bright always.

Garriott is a British-American video game developer and entrepreneur, known as his alter egos Lord British in Ultima and General British in Tabula Rasa.

A figure in the video game industry, Garriott originally a game designer and programmer and now engages in various aspects of computer game development and business.

On 28 September 2007, Space Adventures announced that Garriott would fly to the International Space Station in October 2008 as the sixth space tourist, reportedly paying US$30 million.

During his spaceflight, Garriott took part in several education outreached efforts.

He is an Amateur Radio Operator (callsign W5KWQ) and during his stay on the International Space Station (ISS), he communicated with students and other Amateur Radio operators using Amateur Radio.

Garriott also transmitted photographs using the ARISS SSTV amateur radio syatem.

Garriott also worked with the Windows on Earth project, which provides an interactive, virtual view of earth as seen from ISS.

Garriott used the Windows on Earth software to assist in the selection of locations on Earth to photograph and the public were able to use the same online tool to track the ISS and see the view he was experiencing out an ISS window.

His photographs, along with images taken by his Astronaut father Owen Garriott in 1973, will be available to the public through Windows on Earth, adding a personel element to studies of Earth and how Earth has changed over time.

He is the first affspring of an American Astronaut to go into space and the second person to wear the British Union flag in space.

Garriott became the ninth inductee into the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences' Hall of Fame in 2006.

Served on the crew of STS-44, that successfully deployed a defense support program (DSP) satellite.

In addition, the crew conducted two military man-in-space earth observation experiments, three radiation-monitoring experiments and numerous life sciences experiments in support of long duration space flights.

Served as a mission specialist on the crew of STS-54.

The six-day mission featured the deployment of a NASA Tracking and Data Relay Satellite (TDRS-F) and carried the Diffuse X-Ray Spectrometer (DXS) in the payload bay.

This astronomical instrument designed to expand the knowledge of stellar evolution scanned the local vicinity of our Milky Way galaxy and recorded the low-energy X-Ray emanations believed to originate from the plasma remnants of an ancient supernova.

In what was called the "Physics of Toys", which has since become popular children's education video, the crew also demonstrated how everyday toys behave in space to an interactive audience of elementary school students across The United States.

Served as a mission specialist on the crew of STS-77, which carried a number of technology development experiments as well as a suite of a microgravity science experiments.

The technology development experiments included two deployable satellites both of which he deployed.

For the deployment of the Spartan/Inflatable Antenna Experiment, Mario was The Remote Manipulator System (Robotic Arm) operator.

The other deployable was a small Satellite Test Unit (STU), Which used residual atmospheric drag and the Earth's magnetic field for attitude control and stabilization.

He also filmed some additional Physics of Toys scenes for a sequel to the original educational video and subsequently made several appearances on the children's television show Sesame Street.

One of the first six scientist-astronauts selected by NASA.

His first space flight abroad Skylab in 1973 set a new world record for duration of approximately 60 days, more than double the previous record.

Extensive experimental studies of our sun, of earth resources and in various life sciences relating to human adaptation to weightlessness were made.

His second space flight was abroad Spacelab-1 in 1983, a multidisciplinary and international mission of 10 days.

Over 70 separate experiments in six different disciplines were conducted, primarily to demonstrate the suitability of spacelab for research in all these areas.

He operates the world's first amateur radio station from space,W5LFL, which has since expanded into an important activity on dozens of Shuttle Flights, Space Station MIR and now The International Space Station, with scores of Astronauts and Cosmonauts participating.
